ACT MATH Problem

Need help with this math problem:
1. If x > 1, then which of the following has the LEAST value?

F. √x
G. √2 · x
H. √x · x
J. x√x
K. x · x
ok so x is less than 1 right. so let x be .5 (x=.5)
F- √.5 = .707
G- √2 · .5 = 1
H- √.5 · .5 = .5
J- .5√.5 = .354
K- .5 · .5 = .25

So that means the answer is K, however the answer key says question #10 is F? How is that possible? This is from the ACT 2005-2006 .pdf from the official ACTstudent site byw.

GREATER than one. Hope I helped.

ohhhh

thanks

if u want to make sure, plug in 100 on all of them and you’ll see that root(100) = 10 and it’s the smallest out of all 5
