I just found out my scores this morning and I wasn't happy with my math score at all. It was lowest of all subjects, even science!! I see a lot of people with high Math scores, people who are not even that good in Math. I was wondering if you all can give me some tips, book recommendations for the ACT math, or anything so I can raise my score. Plzz I'M DESPERATE!!

Hi! I also took the Sept. ACT, and received a 36 in Math (35’s on last two tests). While I am very proficient in the subject (math is my strongest), there are several tips I can share. 1. Pace Yourself. A lot of folks say that getting the first 30 done is the most important part. WRONG. Though the difficulty of the last 30 is harder than the first 30, getting the first 30 right and the last 30 wrong is no different, vice-versa. I choose to spend about 30-45 sec for the first 30 questions, and then spend about 1 minute for the rest. If you need time to double-check answers (I usually do not have enough time, 5 min. perhaps), account that into your pacing. 2. PRACTICE. It’s simple, but practice makes perfect. The more ACT math problems you tackle, the more familiar you will be with the format of the actual test. 3. Memorize different formulas that can come in handy. EX: Sin/Cos/Tan rules, 30/60/90 triangles, etc. (Trig is a very important part of the test). Hope this helps! If you have any other questions/need any help, please reply! I’d like to hear if you are improving or not!
