Have any of you used Kaplan's 100 key math concepts; is yes than is it useful or how is? Is it better than the cracking the act math section? (I have been getting 22-23 on math practice test, and I'm a freshman)

Bummmmmmmp

Since you are a freshman, what is your math background? Have you had algebra or geometry yet? I am not sure if prep books are helpful to you at this point if you haven’t taken those classes yet.

I’ve token both I’m done with freshman year actually

I am not familiar with Kaplan 100 key math concepts. Since you are getting low 20s then you are probably missing some basic math skills. Have you tried to memorize all formulas for Alg and properties of shapes for Geometry? Spark Charts are quite handy.

K thanks I will try that

The one trick to the ACT math is waiting until you completed pre-calc/trig. The math section overall really is simple math if you’ve been taught it. When I did my first ACT practice test, the trig was the hardest; however, once I took the course and had been taught the material, the trig questions became so simple.

No need to stress as a freshman. I would just wait to take it as a junior. Most people that I know who took it as a freshman/sophomore ended up doing poorly (in comparison to their junior year score) and since many top schools force you to send all your scores, it isn’t worth wasting a test (as it dampers your app. to take it more than 3 times). Good luck :)

It doesn’t damper your app to take it more than three times! I took It five times (23,27,28,30,33). The vast majority require you send your top composite. Even if they require you send them all it shows improvement.

Plus I got a 35 in the math section the day I got the 33 composite. Just because u had to work hard doesn’t mean my scores are any less important
