Quick question to all of you guys/gals -

I am toying with the thought of taking the September 13th ACT. I think it would be a good idea considering what I have been told about the ACT in comparison to the SAT (that is a good idea to take the ACT if you are better with more concrete subject matter, compared to whatever the SAT tests). I have very high AP scores and equally high SAT Subject tests scores, but a meager SAT score (1840). Are there any success stories of low SAT to high ACT out there?

Well, my SAT score is 1820 & I am aiming for a 33 on the ACT. I have taken multiple ACT practice tests and have scored 32s and 31s (composite) :)

Well I took the ACT and SAT without studying the middle of my Junior year. I got 1960 and 31.

SAT: 1600/2400
ACT: 29 (35 E, 25 M, 31 R, 25 S)

I say go for it.

I didn't take the SAT, but I took the PSAT. I got ~180 on it. I got a 33 on my ACT, so it definitely can be done.

2070 on SAT (equivalent to about a 30 on the ACT)

35 ACT... so yeah.. your SAT score can potentially be considerably lower than your ACT score

I got an 1890 on the SAT and a 30 on the ACT. I really think I can get at least a 33 on the September test. <3 ACT

SAT: 2110
ACT: 34

I would have liked my SAT to be higher, because my ACT was. O well though.

1980 SAT, 34 ACT

I didn't prepare for either, but it seemed to hurt me a lot more on the SAT.

1820 on SAT, 30 on ACT. trying to raise that to a 32+

improvement, i'd say

2210 on SAT equivalent to a 33.
36 on ACT.

34 on ACT, 2240 on SAT. pretty comparable.

SAT:1870
ACT: haven't taken it yet but I'm averaging around 28 composite on practices.

SAT- 1940
ACT- 28 (retaking for a 30+)

They're similar scores, but I think the ACT is a little bit more manageable than the SAT and easier to study for.

My predicted SAT (from PSAT) was 2100 ... and then I took the ACT and got a 35!

I agree that the ACT is very manageable .. I went from a 29 to 35 with prep just doing occasional tests. Good luck!

my first sat was a 2230, and got a 36 a month or so later. but i retook my sat and got a 2320, which is more comparable.

D didn't do test prep for either SAT or ACT. She scored a 1440 (1600) SAT, and a 35/36 ACT.

zebes

i scored a 1860 and 28 composite

so, yes i'd say go for it.

SAT: First sitting: 1260/1850, Second: 1340/1930.
ACT: 33.

ACTs are much easier than SATs IMO.
