i got a 1980 on SAT and a 30 on ACT (i took the ACT cold, no practice no nothing my first time) i'm planning on taking it again, aiming for a 32-33 :) i prefer the ACT and i know many people can agree!

sat: 2180 (1500/1600)
act: 30

It can also go the other way. But since you have had practice on the act I'd go for it. I went into the act having never seen it before, but for the SAT I had taken about 6 full length practices before.

first sat: 1840 just like you
ACT:34

Just take a practice test, because once I did that I was wondering why it was so easy compared to the SAT. If that happens to you , definently take it.

2040 SAT
29 ACT

I only did bad on science so if you take the ACT sections(counterparts of the SAT sections), you could say I did better.

2030 vs 34

I love the ACTs...

^ same here, my SAT score just doesn't compare with my ACT score (check my post earlier in here... 2070 SAT vs. 35 ACT.... no match.. oh well, at least i'm set with my ACT score, as are you!)

1990 SAT
35 ACT

ACT is definitely an easier test once you get the timing down. I went through entire practice books and couldn't get my SAT score over 2100, whereas I got from lower 30s to 34/35s in a couple practice tests. But to be fair I did the the SAT after my I got my ACT score.

1890 SAT about 88th percentile
31 ACT about 98th percentile

1910 vs 32.

Thank god for the ACT-- it actually tests for useful things. Doing well on the SAT is like being able to lick your elbow; both are difficult and useless.

SAT: 1st time-2040
2nd time-2100
3rd time-2050

ACT: (with absolutely no prep and made lots of dumb mistakes because of that): 33

THE ACT IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE SAT.

I think that the ACT was much, much easier to study for.
SAT: 1850
ACT: 32

Obviously, I did a lot better on the ACT. I think you should definitely take it.

do u guys think i can get 30+ act in the fall after taking sat once only and getting 1810?

Absolutely, 92jjxx, just study and take practice tests.

I only took the SAT once. I wasn’t happy at all with my score (1800’s) so I decided to take the ACT. My first time taking it I got 30+, so it’s definitely doable.

bike!
thx for the optimism! i might take act twice just for the heck of it. i did the practice one in that thin act booklet called preparing for act and found no tricky problems like ones in sat

Yeah, I’m taking it a second time in September. I’m shooting for a 33-36 Composite.
The questions for the ACT are much more straightforward than for the SAT. They make up for that though, by forcing you to really hurry through each problem for time. Just know your stuff, and it’s easy.

SAT: 1990/2400, 1370/1600
ACT: 31 (28 science, 31 english, 30 math, 35 reading)

Both scores on my first time taking each test. No studying really, just did a practice test for each one the night before the actual.

I did abysmally on my PSAT but got a 33 on the ACT. There’s no way I could have gotten an equivalent score on the SAT.

203 PSAT, 2000 SAT
32 ACT first try, no prep…

Sat: 1890
act: 32

1950 and 32 2x with a 34 Superscore
