Hey guys,
I sent my ACT scores a few months ago and I noticed that my universities haven’t received them. My ACT and Common App have the same first name but different last name. Is that a problem? Should I call ACT to try and change my last name or should I email every college I applied to and inform them what name I sent my scores under along with proof of payment? Thank you so much.
what clues have you given them that Suresh Shrestha and Suresh Thapa are the same person?
Other than my school and birth date, that is all they have.
What am I missing? How could a college possibly be expected to guess that “Suresh Shrestha” and “Suresh Thapa” are the same person?
It should be pretty obvious that calling up and saying ‘hey, ACT, these 2 names are the same person, so could you just change the name’ would be a problem. Assuming that you have some reasonably clear genuine basis for a name change between when you took the test and when you applied, I suggest having your GC send a letter to each school confirming that “Suresh Shrestha” and “Suresh Thapa” are the same person.
