Score went up 2 points from September ACT, didn’t really do any extra studying, think it’s just because this test center had larger tables so I didn’t keep dropping stuff.

My preparation for this was the red book, I did a total of 3 practice tests before my October ACT. However, I’ve taken/taking all 3 AP Sciences (Bio Chem PhysC) and AP Calculus BC, which probably explains my higher than average Math and Science scores.

TOO HAPPY. First time taking a standardized test, and passed my goal of 34. Never have to take that again :)

Arkansas, this is her first time taking it officially. She took a practice in her bedroom 2 months ago and got a 29. Then she had 4 tutoring sessions. She wants to go to Dartmouth or Georgetown and is a junior.

Arkansas: It’s my junior year and I haven’t taken the test before. I’m hoping to apply to Ivy Leagues (Columbia,Yale, etc.), Boston University, NYU, Georgetown, John Hopkins, and Wellesley.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. You’ve got time to get your score up, and with perseverance and hard work, I’m sure you will. I’ve known MANY who started at 30 and ended up at 36. MANY. Keep your eyes on the prize and keep moving forward.

Living61:
A 31 for the first-time out is nothing to be ashamed of. I’ve known many who started lower and ended up at 34-36 within 3-4 test cycles. Personally, I would definitely have her take December, and even some time with a tutor (whose good, of course). I would continue to shoot for February too though. Cover all the bases. For some, steady progress over several test cycles is the route.

My account still says registered?!??!? I am sure I filled out all of the info correct and other people from my location have got their tests. What could be wrong with my test, and will it be long before I get my scores?
