Isn’t the rule of thumb to take only 3 standardized tests? I thought highly selective schools don’t want you taking it over and over.

I’m happy with this test and my superscore. I wish math was a little stronger, but hey, it’s not my area of expertise :)

When did you receive your essay score?

I’ve read arguments on both sides of that, so I’m not sure which to believe personally. Also, the schools have no way of knowing how many times you’ve taken the test. Even the schools that request you send them all your scores, how could they know? And quite honestly, what business is it of theirs?

I have a friend who applied and got into Pomona, which requested all scores. She didn’t send all of them. She only sent three of the six she took. No problem.

I am a math and science person, so I have no idea why my scores for those sections were lower, except that I am a terrible test taker. I thought I would get a 34 or 35 on math. English made me really happy though, and I didn’t actually finish reading.
Any suggestions to raise math and science? My goal is a 34, because that will guarantee a full ride to the college I plan to go to.

Just got my scores today! I’m over the moon with my scores - I thought I did worse than I did in September (I found the October test 10x harder)!

Congrats, pin3appl3! Nice work.

I would love to know what you did to boost your score so successfully, especially your essay score.

Did I read it correctly that 97% of those who took the ACT test in October got a 31 or below?

Where did you read that, Living61?

I thought it was on my score report. I guess I read it that a 31 was better than 97% of the other test scores

According to the ACT site ([Score Information | National Ranks for Test Scores and Composite Score | ACT Student](<a href=“ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT”>ACT Test Scores | ACT Scoring | ACT)) its true that a 31 is better then 97% of all test takers. Anything 33+ is better than 99% of all ACT test takers.
