***ACT October 2013 Thread***

it’s 5 meats to choose from and you have to choose 3… how many sandwiches can you make? 5 c 3

what about the science question discussing the ‘w’ allele and its ability to block other colours? what was the answer?

How about the store on with how much percent more is the one for loyalty?

rohroh, I said A for that I think?

and binderboy, I divided .25/.15 I’m pretty sure.

just divide the 2 percents in decimal form… (it was .25/.16)–> 166% - E

How much more discount^^ did the loyalt customers get than non-loyalty i think i put 166%

what answer choice was 1 for the r question?

Reading should get a good curve and maybe science or math

This might be a dumb question, but, does the ACT actually curve? I thought once you get one wrong, there’s no chance of getting a 36. Any thoughts?

for the math section, the ordering of A4 A3 A2 A1, what was that answer? also when you folded the circle twice and cut it what was that shape?

also what did you guys say for the one asking about the tone of the automobile passage? straight forward and self-critical or something?

i said it was the weird polygon (a3), then the larger triangle, then the rectangle, then the small triangle. I got the cutting one wrong I think: i said the four right triangles.

Maybe this time it’ll be different? One practice test I got one wrong on reading and it was still a 36. My highest hopes are
English: -2=35, -3 or -4=34
Math: -2=35, -3 or -4=34
Reading: -1=36, -2= 35 -3 or -4= 34 -5=33
Science: -2=35 -3=34 -4=33

LoveArtForever, I’d sure hope so! But I’m not getting my hopes up hahaha. If anything, my 29 composite from last time will suffice. This test was more difficult than usual. We can’t beat ourselves up over it lol

The cutting question was basically the paper with the 4 half-semicricles cut…100% on this. it is hard to explain. I believe it was C, if I remember correctly.

I think the answer is “quipped in retrospect ironically” with no commas.

oh and what did you guys say for the quipped in retrospect ironically? i put he quipped, in retrospect ironically, … did others get this?

Aggg999, I think it was the square.

@Riadon:
I put the % would be from .1 to .005. There was an inverse trend going on in figure 1 of that passage.

Since a million years (as you said, is insignificant compared to a billion) in the future would continue on from the present (therefore continue on that inverse trend), the answer definitely had to be below .1. It is reasonable that it is above .005 if you extended the curve on your own.

I thought the circle one was a diamond shape
