Has anyone found it to be beneficial for the real ACT?

No, do NOT buy it. It's a piece of crap. The tutorial state a bunch of obvious stuff. Infact, the only part about it that's up to snuff, is the tests you can take.

I would recommend you get Kaplan's act book. I don't know the price, because I bought it from my library.

TBOL, thanks. I thought that I read for some reason that it wasn't very good. I decided though, to go and pay for it since my kid has run out of tests. He has the PR, Barrons, and the real ACT book. He does have 2 print out tests (one from last year and one from this year that was on the ACT site). He started the math section of one of those free print out tests and said that they don't normally start with math word problems, so he did not do that one. He told me that he'll probably go through those 2 tests by December, but I don't think that the answers are explained. I figured that for $20 it is worth 2 real ACT tests, other real ACT questions with answers, a free scored essay, and a diagnostic test. That sounds decent since the prep books are $25 and up anyway. Thanks for posting though!
