I'm trying to apply for HYP using ACT only (of course, I have 3 SAT 2's, but the fact that all SAT 1's I take are being sent to colleges make me worry). In SAT, I can't screw up, so I feel more comfortable in ACT environment (and scores prove that, too). But would I get disadvantaged for submitting ACT only to colleges? Even if I get like 35-36 in ACT, should I take SAT 1?

No, you wouldn't be disadvantaged.

I apologize for threadcrapping but my question is related..

What if I took the SAT1 and got a 1680. I then took the ACT and got a 29 ( SAT equiv: 1300 old score). Some univ's ( like columbia ) require SATII's and I've heard that collegeboard sends the SATI as well as the SATII scores! So would the SATI reflect negatively on me despite having the better ACT score? It was the first time I took the SAT...

Thanks

I had a similar question...
If my SAT scores are around 2000, but I don't do as well on the ACT (say a 25 -27) and I send both scores in will the ACT hurt me?
...Pretty much the same question in reverse.

I would only send the best of the 2.

There would be no reason to send in the ACT if it is lower.

The Vegan Actress, you do not need to sen dthe ACT score if it is lower so there is no problem..

Could anyone answer my question please?

jai,
I doubt it would reflect negatively on you in most cases. I don't think it looks as bad as if you took the SAT five times, for example. I think that most schools are going to look at your best scores.

I think you might be able to call the SAT people and cancel your SAT I score, if you wanted to.

From what I checked on collegeboad website, scores can only be cancelled untill the wednesday after the test :(

jai,
ACT says that too, but they mean if you want to prevent reports going out to the colleges you put down when you registered. You can still cancel your scores at any time, and they will delete them from their records.

It can't hurt to call the SAT people and ask.
