Okay, so I had this whole elaborate plan figured out as a last-ditch effort to raise my standardized test scores. I plan on retaking the SAT I's and the ACT and taking the SAT II's for the first time. I also might (probably WILL) be applying early decision to either Amherst or Brown.

So, I can take the ACT September 13th (outside of my state, but that's not a big deal)...no problem.

I can sign up to take the SAT I again on October 4th.

The next date for SAT's is November 1st...am I correct that you take the subject tests on regular test dates? How do you go about registering to take the specific tests that you would like?

SOOO...my SAT II scores will most likely not be in on time if I apply early decision. Can I send them in, seeing as they'll only be like a week or two late? Blahhh.

Just register for the SAT II like you would the SAT I. There is an option for SAT II or SAT I, and then you can pick. Not sure about the scores being too late...though it's possible.

First of all, early decision=binding. Be cautious.
Sounds like your SAT IIs will be late in Nov. Call Amherst and Brown, talk to an adm rep, (ask for their name), and see if they think Nov tests will meet the deadline. Make sure you have researched this on their websites BEFORE you call them so you know what you're talking about!
You cannot take SAT I on the same day as SAT IIs.You can sign up for whatever tests you want to when you register for SAT IIs, and even change them on test day if you choose to. You can take up to 3. Make sure you take the tests required by the schools you are applying to, as some mandate Math2 for science majors, etc.
