ACT or SAT for UC's?

I have a few questions regarding the ACT and SAT. I took both the SAT and ACT once and scored a 1520 and 22. These scores are quite similar but my ACT is a tad bit higher. Should I send in both scores, or just my ACT? Because I'm kind of worried since my SAT reading score is only a 480 and my math is only 520. If I only send in my ACT, will UCs think I'm not dedicated if I only took the test once? Thanks!

The word is that the UC’s will accept all scores and use a composite of the highest ones. No school will give you a hard time for only taking the test once. My kid took the test only once too and did just fine. He applied to 6 UC’s and got into 5 of them. Ultimately, he chose another direction and went to Cal Poly SLO for engineering.

Basically, if you are satisfied with your highest test score (not super score), then you do not need to take any of the tests again for UC purposes.

However, according to [University of California - Freshman admission profiles](http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/freshman/profiles/index.html) , your scores are below average of admitted freshmen for 2011 at every UC.
