Should I take the ACT or SAT? I already took the SAT this year (7th grade) and I am going to take one of them in 10th grade. Which one should I?

Take both. And don't take them in your tenth grade. You actually need more schooling for the ACT. Take them in your junior year.

But I can't put my 7th grade scores on for my Governor's school application which has to be turned in during sophomore year. they suck

Then take both of them your sophomore year and use the one you do best on.

okay thanks

From my children, who took both, I saw one truth (but my test group of two weakens the thrust of my argument). But a counselor told me that he has reviewed the issue with hundreds of kids and agrees.

The consensus is that those who are better in English than math do better in the ACT. Why? I have no idea. Especialy since the ACT has the section on science. But, the science section requires as much on reading as anything else -- so it is not cut and dry as being more a test on science than it is really just a test on reading comprehension where the topic is science.

ACT is also a bit longer -- hence more fatiguing.

Having said that, take them both and tell us if the consensus proves true for you.

OKay thanks a lot. :]

Just curious...how'd you do on the SAT as a 7th grader?

oooh you really want to know? i did horrible. there was an article saying that students more stressed about math section get worse scores. well anyways my scores were:
Math: 500 (average according to site)
CR: 490 (approx 10 points below average) i gave up on this section!
Writing: 560 (above average)

My math score sucked but i am actually pretty good in math. just did horribly on math section :[
