What do you think would be better to send to Villanova as my test scores? I know they aren't perfect for Nova, but that is my only downfall. I plan on applying as a Finance major

My SATs:
1300/1600 (1900/2400)
Math: 710
CR: 590
Writing: 590

My ACTs:
Composite: 29
E:28
M:33
R:29
S:25
E/W: 27 (9 Essay)

I'm biased toward the SAT, but that could just be me. The good thing is that both of your math scores are significantly higher than your other scores - and that's great for a finance major :]

Thanks, and a correction- my Writing score for the SATs is a 600, not 590.

they are basically the same scores when converted.

However, your 29 places right in the middle of the 27-31 Villanova score range, whereas your SAT math places you at the top, but your CR and W are on the low end.

I guess you could send in both, but I would send in your ACT if you want to only send one.

Yeah, I knew that the 29 and the 1300 were basically the same. I just wasn't sure if the ACT subscores for English and Reading were better than my low 590 on the SAT.

Also I took the SAT 3 times, so I do not think i should take again. I took the ACT twice and the second time all the subscores were better, except my reading on the first test was a 36. I wish they superscored the ACT ha.

I will probably send in both scores just for the fact that I scored pretty high in the math sections for both and I'm hoping Villanova will overlook the somewhat low english scores since I want to do finance.

Your ACT and SAT scores are similar to my D. She submitted all of them and got in. I would focus more on your essay by emphasizing all of your strengths there. Good Luck! Hope you get in. It's a great school!

Your scores are similar to my S's as well( high math and ok verbal), he only submitted the ACT because his math score was so strong. He applied to VBS will be attending the in fall, but his best friend applied with a 31 ACT (with a 27 on the math) and was waitlisted, so who knows. I agree with the above OP, focus your essay on a passion and shine that way. Hopefully you have some unusual EC's or experiences that might make you stand out or show your focus in business.

thanks everyone. I hope the rest of my application will outweigh my scores. I worked hard to be able to go to a great school, I would hope one test score wouldn't keep me out.
I am vice president of the state of pennsylvania for DECA, which is a business/marketing club. I also take chinese which I hope will stand out also. I know Nova is really into community service and I'm President of my schools Key Club (which is community service). I also have some more leadership positions. So, hopefully it will work out.
