quick question
will colleges favor students who submit SAT scores more than those who submit ACT scores?

I realize less people submit ACT scores, however, every college I've seen accept both and I was only planning on taking the ACT, but I just wanted to clarify this issue

It seems to be a regional thing. It is not stated in stone, but colleges do prefer the SAT over the ACT although they accept both. Why? Because SAT is reasoning based while ACT is academic based.

uh oh -.-
so what exactly does that mean for my chances if I only send an ACT score (btw, my score is 31 right now and I signed up for the september one already)

SAT is not preferred by colleges. The colleges claim that either test is good. SAT is just much more popular and students prefer it. The ACT has been gaining ground lately, so don't worry.

as of now (and in the future), colleges don't take preference on either test......... the ACT and SAT are now accepted at all colleges, so just take whichever test you're better at

ok sounds good
although anhtimmy says different =/
however, I don't have anymore time left to prepare for the SAT's, so I guess my best shot will be in the ACT

From what I hear, they don't care which score you send in. Go with the test that you can do best on. ACT is more information (science, Trig, etc) and the SAT is heavier on the reading/vocab and reasoning.
