And the composite IS the average of four sections!!!
My son took ACT with writing and is missing his science. I think his other scores are accurate b/c they are within a point of his previous test.
MY D’s SCORES ARE NOW ALL SHOWING! Praise be!
And her composite score did NOT change.
I took the writing section and my score of science has been missing until 5 minutes ago. Now everything is normal and there is no oracle error message! Yeah!!! I think everyone can go back to check
I tried re-checking just now and the entire site timed out. I think they are getting slammed with people checking.
same problem
My daughter took the writing and her science score is missing Hope nothing changes her composite. She is thrilled!!!
A local high school is saying the same thing about it affecting everyone who took the writing section! I don’t know if that means everyone who took the writing section is affected or if those affected happened to also take the writing section.
YAY! All scores are now posted.
I got a 35 composite. 36E, 35M, 34R, 36S. If I just got a 36 in Math or 35 Reading, I would’ve gotten a 36 X( . It especially sucks since the two mistakes I made in Math were dumb mistakes
Son’s complete scores are finally up. However, I just notice that next to English Language Arts (ELA) it says, “You did not take the Writing test, so an ELA score is not available.” It says this despite the fact the fact that he did the writing section. Anybody else who did the writing section see the same thing?
@vhsdad Must be yet another mistake made by the ACT. This was my first and last time taking it. Thank god
@vhsdad - That’s because the Writing section has not been scored yet. Just English and Reading.
Same here! Scores are up for my son!
Sweet… so glad it’s fixed. My son’s said the same thing next to the writing. Freaked me out for a second. It’ll take some time for that to get posted. Typically 2-3 weeks after composite is posted. Composite does NOT change with writing. Yay!
It’s not “another mistake made by the ACT,” it says that on any test that doesn’t have the writing results, either because the student didn’t take the writing test or because the results aren’t available yet. They are very clear that the results of the writing will take longer than the regular results. In the score column it will say “–” if they didn’t take the writing and it will say “Not yet available” if they did take the writing. The amount of rage that a display error has induced in a few people is baffling to me. You/your child got the score that you/he/she earned. The company fixed their display issue less than 7 hours after they became aware of it. Unless someone has different information to provide, no composite scores were ever shown incorrect and the only “harm” done was that we had to wait 7 extra hours to see the complete results to know for sure that the composite score shown was an accurate number. @lolgotrekt you didn’t get a 35 because the ACT people did something wrong, you got a 35 because of how you answered questions on the test. Feel free to be angry about not getting a 36 if you want, but if it’s that important to you, you can always retake it. Also, congratulations on a great score.
RE: My comment about the rage: I’m not implying that everyone posting in this thread was raging. Most of you were not.
@Redhounds By “yet another mistake made by the ACT,” the first mistake I was referring to was the Oracle error, and the second mistakes I was referring to was the “you did not take writing test.” I fully recognize that my 35 was a result of my own work. I’m not angry at all about not getting a 36. I was slightly annoyed at MYSELF for not answering one more question correctly.
And of course people are “raging.” Teenagers have a lot of anxiety regarding college applications. You can’t blame us for that. We aren’t mature adults yet; we’re still learning.
~~It’s not “another mistake made by the ACT,” it says that on any test that doesn’t have the writing results, either because the student didn’t take the writing test or because the results aren’t available yet. ‘’
@redhounds : It is a mistake: they are saying you did not take the writing test’’ to everyone, when they should have said
this score will be available when writing scores are available’’ to those who took the writing test.
Don’t you want an accurate order delivered when you pull up to a fast-food window and are paying $6 for the food? Hundreds of thousands of student/parents have paid $60+ and you expect some competency in displaying results and using accurate language.
@osuprof I agree, that would be a better way to word it but It’s not how they’ve worded it for at least the last 3 years. I don’t think it’s a “mistake” so much as a really bad way to do the report while waiting for results. The fast-food analogy wouldn’t really apply unless they gave you the wrong score now and the correct score later. A closer fast-food analogy would be them giving you almost everything on your order but they make you go park and wait a little bit for your french fries. While waiting, you notice that the receipt doesn’t show that you ordered french fries but then they bring you the fries in line with the time estimate that they gave you.
