Okay, I just took the act plus writing today on September 13th 2014. it is the first time i have taken it with the writing and I do not think I did too well on it. IF a college does not require a writing section, will they disregard that score?

The composite score does not consist of the writing section. It only adds up the 4. If the school doesn’t take the writing section I doubt they’ll care what you got.

But I thought the writing score was incorporated into the English score. @brendabli

It is not. The English score is unaffected by the writing… consider that some people don’t take the Writing. There is a combination English/Writing score that colleges can look at, but - like the Writing score - it is separate from the core composite scores.

okay thanks! that makes me feel so much better. hopefully I didn’t fail the writing part though…
