Yeah, some people on here are douches and are bragging when they say "do I have a chance?". Sometimes, I just want to slap those people.

I got a 34/12. I also got a 12 on my SAT essay. I took each once, and my ACT is better, I think. I theorize that they are trained to spot a certain kind of writing, because a friend of mine had like a 780 and 790 on the SAT writing but 8s on the essay, and she's an excellent writer.

They better not discriminate, but I did send SAT IIs...which have SATs. I just didn't report SAT on my applications.

yeah, i didn't self report my sat's either...

hmm. so if i do well on the act, theres no point in sending my sat's in? sounds good. im just trying to do my best on all of them, though im positive i flunked my act. lol. at least i have another bunch of shots

well since you have to send subject tests, then the schools will automatically get your sats... i just didn't self-report.

Nope. SAT Subject Tests are NOT required for ACT test takers. ACT alone works just fine.

they are not required!!!! I am really upset now. my gc told me they were. i should have just checked myself.

I sent SAT IIs because mine were pretty decent (750 US, 770 Math2, 680 Chem) and only two of my schools would let me send ACT w/o SAT IIs

Will I be at a disadvantage if I don't send SAT? I took both tests once and got a 1980 and a 33, so I won't be sending the SAT.

kcirsch, just send the 33. Yale's 25-75 for the ACT is 31-34 so you are much closer with it than your SAT.

At a college like Yale, admissions most likely just whips out a statistical chart with percentile matchups between the ACT and the SAT when in doubt as for what the ACT means. But this year, they might be doing the reverse with those stupid scores out of 2400 lol!
