ACT practice tests

When you take a practice test and go over what you get wrong, what do you do for reading/science? For math and english there are certain types of problems, and you can see why you got the answer wrong and the explanation.

For reading and science on the other hand, if you get a question wrong you're just like ooooh that information was somewhere here but i didnt find it or had to move on because of time restraint or whatever.

So i just kinda try to improve my approach really... but what should i be doing? Just specifically search for the information anyways?

Ok, this is funny because I actually had a bad case of this disease too. I only checked math and English for a while, too.

It is much trickier to gain from checking reading and science, but do it anyway!

You will want to be able to pretty much memorize every kind of question asked, and checking will eventually allow you to do this. Just see what led you to be wrong. Like I said, it’s tricky.

If you are consistently getting problems wrong because of the time limit, take the test without the time limit. Or do it with the time limit and mark the problems you didn’t complete and just do them anyway. By doing this, you can see how you would do in a timed scenario and make sure you can do the ones you don’t reach\ could not do in the time.

reading:
12 minutes for science passage
9 minutes for the 2nd passage
9 minutes for the 3rd passage
5 minutes for the 4th passage
if you follow my order youll have sufficient time at the end. its specifically for people who are better at the CR section on the SAT, anyway. this method gives you time to find the answers on the 4th passage–which is a hide and seek game anyway. its successful - i used it today and got a 34.

^are you kidding me? 5 mins for the 4th passage? how could you finish a passage in 5 minutes?

Erm…the science passage IS the fourth passage.

Maybe the person is giving 5 minutes to do the prose.

If he/she is an avid prose reader, than this is understandable.

^^i meant, ‘5 minutes for the 1st passage’ OTL|| sorry…
^double yes.

Well there you go. ;)
