ACT Prep Book recommendation

Honestly, I hate all the SAT/ACT prep books from major companies (Princeton Review, Kaplan, etc...).

Those companies are definitely make good SAT 2 and AP prep books, but not good SAT/ACT prep books.

Is there any good ACT prep books from non-major companies that can help my English/ Reading/ and Science???

Practice with real tests in a timed setting. There are 5 in the Real ACT book (Red Book.)

The Black Book. Head and shoulders above the rest. Good luck.

I thought Black Book was specifically for SAT… Is there one for ACT?

There is one for the ACT. It focuses more on strategy than content (pretty much the same as the SAT Black Book). FWIW, my son used it and said it was helpful. He self studied using that book and the practice tests in the Red Book.

@junHur the ACT Black Book is by Mike Barrett
He is a tutor.

The books works best when you use it with the Red ACT book and do the “walk throughs.”

Did you try the Real ACT book? Other than that, the only one I’ve heard recommended is the McGraw Hill. But go for the Red book first if you haven’t tried it yet.

Barron’s is great
