i have to sign up in a weeek so it would really be nice if someone could help me in making this decision or not…

From my experience, I don’t know that it will help you much. The ACT is based on knowledge you just have to acquire over years of schooling. I don’t think there is much anyone can do for you in terms of getting you ready for the test that you can’t do on your own. But if you feel that you need the extra help and it isn’t working for you to study by yourself, go for it.

Unless you are terrible at math, the only thing a prep class will be able to do for you is provide practice tests. If you know your math/can teach yourself basic math and can acquire your own practice tests, then you really will have no use for a prep class. Get some tests and TIME YOURSELF: the ACT doesn’t really test your knowledge of that much- just how much you can get done within the time constraints.
