I spent a lot of time preparing for SAT taking practice tests and reading books. I recently decided I want to take the ACT too. I was wondering how much, if any, prep I should do before ACT since I have already spent a lot of time on SAT prep.

anyone? any tips for changing focus from sat to act would be helpful

Sharpen up your science comprehension & review geometry/algebra.

Take a couple practice ACT tests to see.

The ACT is not very similar to the SAT, and some strategy may be necessary depending upon what kind of test taker you are.

Some people can go into the ACT and get a high score with little to no prep, while others need to exert a little more effort.

Get the Real ACT book to start. It’s Red.

Only a practice test can tell you how much practice you will need. I personally found that training for one is inadvertently training for another. But the ACT has more straightforward questions but less time. Good Luck!

I am taking it in April and I study 7 hours a week. I usually don’t have time during the weekdays. So I do it for four hours on Saturday and three hours on Sunday. I do two two hour sessions of going through my Kaplan review book on Saturday. (20 minute break between), and 2 1.5 hour sessions on Sunday.

I also want time on the weekends to talk to girls, play Xbox, Hang out with friends, etc. therefore I go to bed early and wake up at 7 to get the stuff out of the way.

If you feel tired at 7 just exercise before you start studying, it works for me!

If I finish the Kaplan review book before April I will switch to Barron’s.

Good luck!
