ACT Prep

Hi
Im looking to write the ACT in October. I really want a 33+ score. Which books should I start practicing with? Which is the best book for concepts and strategies? Cracking the SAT or Barron's ACT? or some other book?

Hey, there! Princeton Review has a nice study guide at the beginning of their Cracking the ACT book. Go through it for sure. I am a test prep coach and I always go through a study guide with my students at the beginning of our work together (I use one I created, but PR’s is good, too).

That said, the key will be to practice using official tests (like those from the Real ACT Guide) and to evaluate your work as you go, reviewing wrong answers and the related concepts to continue strengthening your foundation even after you’ve built it with the initial Study Guide. You can also buy a prep book with multiple tests (Like McGraw Hill 10 ACTs) to run drills and practice sections using the skills and knowledge you reviewed in the study guide.

Good Luck!
