In your opinion, what is the best way to study and prepare for the ACT test? How do you take the practice tests?
When are you taking the test?
practice tests. No way around it. Understand the material needed. Most of it should be intuitive, but it takes at least a week to review to get at least a 30.
I practiced by buying the “Real ACT Prep Guide” (red book) and a Princeton Review 1296 Questions ACT book. I used the Princeton Review for daily practice, doing practice problem after practice problem to increase my reading speed and get used to the timing. Then, every few days or every week, I did a serious fully timed test from the Real ACT Prep book, which includes real past ACT tests (I used the tests in this book sparingly, as it probably most accurately reflects the real ACT). This gave me the most accurate estimation of what I would get on the actual test. Bear in mind that the practice tests from the Red book are somewhat easier than the real test, but the curving is also harsher.
