Act Preparation Help

Hi,

I am a sophomore in high school, and I am about to start studying for the ACT. Would anybody be able to give me advice on which review books (overall, specific to english, specific to math, or specific to science) are best or give me any other advice/tips/guidance? Thanks so much!!!

Use the real act prep guide. The red book. It’s all I or my friends ever used because it has 10 tests actually made by ACT in it

The best way to study for the ACT is to practice with REAL ACT tests. There are 5 tests in the Red ACT Book, 3rd Edition. ACT released several tests in booklet form.

Time each practice session to simulate the real test.

English 75 questions in 45 min.
Math 60 questions in 60 min.
Reading 40 questions in 35 min.
Science 40 questions in 35 min

Score your test and review only what you got WRONG after each practice session.

I suggest the following schedule:

Take 1 section each school night/with review for 4 nights/week.
Twice per month on a Saturday or Sunday take a full ACT test/with review.

The red book is essential. I would buy a book for your weakest area. If you are trying to ace the exam, ACT 36 by Barron’s is great. My advice: buy as many books as you can.

@Argentina2017 I thought the Barrons book was terrible.

@rangers19‌ how are you a sophomore and applying to colleges?

@rangers19 In another thread you state:

So are you a sophomore or a senior?
