I am a high school senior in need of an ACT score boost. I would like to study but I’m stuck on where to start. What are some tools and possible websites that could really help me get ready? I also need some encouragement finals are coming up and I am seriously overwhelmed. I keep trying to look forward at what it will be like once the semester is over, but it gets “blocked” by all the things I need to do.

Hey winterblizzard, just remember if you can get through these three weeks are so, the rest of the year should be a breeze. Right now for you it all comes down to efficiency: getting the most done in the least amount of time. Practice, practice, practice. Great site to get real practice tests is if you google “crack act.”
PrepScholar is also very, very useful. Check out this site which is basically a table of contents for all the articles they have on ACT:

If you want you could go to amazon and purchase a copy of Up Your Score ACT (https://www.amazon.com/Up-Your-Score-2016-2017-Underground/dp/076118449X/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480871688&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=act+upscore) they teach the ACT while TRYING to make jokes
Last minute tips:
- Dont freak or stress - that is actually counter intuitive, think calmly: how do I apply what I already know?
- Very cheesy but important: get a lot of sleep the night of and eat a healthy breakfast!
- For English, there are just few rules you need to know, which could be found under the English section of PrepScholar
- Math, if you’ve taken Alg1, Geo, and Alg2 you should be fine, just remember that every question LOOKS diffucult and time consuming whereas most actually can be done through short cuts if you have the correct mindset
- Reading skim through the passage, answer the line number questions first etc.
- Science is the easiest but you have to be able to extract info from the passages very quickly
- If for any question you get stuck, circle the question, skip, and return
Another option would be to take the ACT in January and send the scores directly to your colleges, please check your colleges to see if you could do that, as that would give you a major advantage so you could study for the ACT during winter break
Good Luck!!!
