ACT Question

I took the Dec. 9th test and scored: (I am a Junior.)

Composite: 34
English: 31
Reading: 33
Science: 36
Math: 36
Writing: 12

I know that this is a decent score; however, will adcoms look down upon me because I am just like almost all other asian applicants (high math/science, low english/reading)?

Thanks in advance!

i'd hardly call that 'low' english reading--you got a 31 and a 33 respectively...98 and 99 percentile...if you really want to set yourself apart from other 'asian applicants' as you put it, work on other stuff besides standardized test scores...as long as theyre all 99 percentile, i think you'll be fine in that area.

If a school discriminated in that way (i.e., blatant stereotyping--even if the stereotype is true) it would show up in their stats and that would look very bad for them.

Your English and Reading scores are high, and right in line with your math and science scores. Your scores look really balanced; 36s and 26s would look unbalanced.

You got a 12 in writing. That shows you communicate well even if you misplaced a modifier on the multiple choice.

I agree with mmkay: If you're looking for ways to stand out, you can probably find some other areas that would benefit more from your attention and energy.
