ACT Question

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew roughly what percentage someone would have to get right in each section of the ACT to get a 36?

FAKEOUT

Well it all depends on the section. But usually you can't miss any to get a 36. Sometimes, however, on an extremely difficult section, you can miss one or two and still get a 36.

He's basically right...
One curve I've seen is as follows:

English: 36, 35, 34, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30, 30
Math: 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 32, 31, 31, 30
Reading: 36, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30
Science: 36, 35, 34, 32, 31, 29

So basically you can only get one wrong on reading if you want a 36. This will change from test to test, but generally it's quite similar.

As noted, you basically can miss none to get a 36 in a section of the ACT except on a rare occassion. However, you can get a 36 composite by missing two or three overall because your composite score is the average of the four section scores and and any composite of 35.5 becomes a 36. In other words you can get a 36 composite by scoring two 36's and two 35's or three 36's and a 34 in the sections.

on the psats i got an 80 on writing even though i got one wrong, its like you can still get an A+ with a 98%
