ACT question

current SAT scores:
1st time, cr 610 math 640 writing 790 essay 10
2nd time, cr 640 math 720 writing 780 essay 10

i'm wondering if i should try the ACT or just retake the SAT in the fall.

i have not been very familiar with the ACT in the past, but i just took a practice test on princetonreview, and i received a 29 composite (i skipped the essay). that is my first try.

now, on collegeboard, the ranges for UCLA are
cr 570-690
math 610-740
writing 580-700
and for ACTs, it is 24-31.

now, from what i've read, a 29 ACT would be something around a 1920, which is significantly lower than my SAT score.

however, based on those ranges, i almost feel like if i could get myself up to a 30 or 31 with some practice, it'd look better.
is that true?

do you think it's worth it to try to familiarize myself with a new test format and study for the ACTs? or should i just retake the SATs?

thanks guys :)
just looking for advice

why not try an act practice test and see how you do? i took alot of time prepping for the sat, and i took the act "for fun", and ended up scoring alot better in comparison to the sat

like, i said, i already took a practice test. :)

and i'm just curious whether it's worth it to try the real thing for an estimated score of a 30 or so, or if my SAT is considered significantly better anyway.
