ACT Questions!!!

Is it hard to earn a 27 On the ACT ?
and what's the best way to study??

Reading as many books as you can.

No not really… A 20-21 is average so, it is above average. If you have a concept of the core things and, manage your time you can get a 27… practice books helps… there are a lot of good ones. it mainly just depends on the style of book that you like.

What do you mean style of book ?
I’ve only took the SAT so I’m not sure how the ACT works. Could you elaborate please.

The ACT is different from the SAT, you have to gain your points rather than lose them. You can guess and not lose any points. The main issue is time, and you really have to pace yourself when taking the test. I would really try to practice, and maybe sign up for a course if you feel you need it.

As for getting a 27, it just depends on you. If you have taken the SAT before, you may want to check out a concurrence table on college board to see where you stand (keep in mind that the ACT tends to be harder, so you may want to keep that in mind when preparing). If you are more literary I would stick with the SAT, but if you are better in math try the ACT.

I am currently at a 23, and my goal is a 28. I bought 5 books (2 Princeton, Kaplan, The red book, and Barrons 36) I made a study schedule and I plan on sticking to it. Practice is really the only way to get the improvement you want to see, and you can only hold yourself accountable.

Each book has a different style of explaining, so it may be wise to read reviews before buying, or spending time in the bookstore or library going through each book thoroughly before committing. That way you can find the right book for you, and try to get the best score from it.

You could also try studying with a buddy, or in a group.

no it is not hard to earn a 27 I did it twice then got a 29 the third time

Oh Okay , Thank you everyone.

Court922: What I mean is, all prep books are set up different ways and, have their own writing style. So, it is pretty much a trial and error thing. Chose a few and, decide what “style” you like.

Let me know if this makes more sense… ^^^^^^^

It makes sense , but i guess i’ll have to actually get a book for it to make more sense and disregard my other thread.

LOL… Good luck, glad I could help a little…

Real ACT has five exams that were actually administered.
