ACT questions

Does MIT look at the English section separately from the essay? For example I got a 34 in the English section but a 31 in the combined English section plus essay. Somehow I got an 8 on my essay and I want to know if it will badly affect my composite act and the English score MIT sees.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but it looks like plenty of people with your English and writing section scores managed to get in last year. I think you should be more than okay with the scores you’ve got; focus on the application essays (assuming you’re applying this year) and making the most of your opportunities and talents.

I’m 99% sure that they look at your English section and your essay separately. The “combined” score is kind of meaningless IMO.
