ACT Questions!

  1. Do the actual tests tend to be easier than the official practice test? Please list your practice test score and your real test score.
  2. Please help me on this question on the English Section?

This is not a deliberate (act, which) I just unconsciously assume that all pens belong to me.
a. no change
b. act that
c. act.
d. act

I know D is wrong. But can someone explain why A and B are wrong. Why is C right? How would I know when to use comma and which and a simple period?

  1. How could I increase my English Section score if I keep constantly scoring 30s and 31s on the official practices test that I have been taking?
  2. A Fun Question: If you had to take a test on a section of ACT Test, which section would you take? Personally, I would Math because I love math!

I’m a rising senior and I have gotten a 26 and 32 on the ACT Test

  1. Depending on what review book you have, you may think that the actual ACT test is easier. It’ll be an easier test if you use Barron’s or Princeton Review. Also, use some SAT Math II Subject Tests to help you study for the Math Section. I took the SAT Math II the week before the June ACT (where I got the 32) and I was able to get a 34 ACT Math score as opposed to my 23 ACT Math score in September 2014.

  2. The two sentences are separate thoughts. In addition, read the sentence to yourself, it’ll sound choppy if you read it to yourself. If there was a connecting word such as “so”, that’ll make the sentence correct. However, you’re just stuck with a period after “act” to keep the grammar correct. Therefore, the answer is C.

  3. Review your English grammar rules (I used sparknotes to help me). In addition, the ACT website has free questions and a question of the day. In addition, you can pick up some SAT writing section practice questions and practice with that.

  4. English- I love looking for errors in the passages and sometimes, you have to go beyond the underlined phrase to the whole paragraph to see where the error is. (I got a 34 on English)

Hope this helps and good luck studying!

And also, for your first question:

  1. On Barron’s and Princeton, the lowest I got was a 25 and the highest I got was a 29. Even though they are really bad scores, I got a 3-7 pt. increase from those tests to get a 32.
-I only got a 26 on the 9/2014 test because I was getting lazy at the start of junior year and I had an allergy attack during the test (kept sneezing and blowing my nose so I ran out of time)
