Minimum qualifying scores for the ACT are 21 English and 24 Math*. You must also achieve a minimum composite score of 23. Each of the three minimum scores must be achieved individually in order to meet the Academy's minimum test score requirements.

These are the minimum requirements for the USMMA and i have a question about the scores

Is the minimum composite score based off English, Math, Science, and Reading or is this score based off just math and English?

I would really like to know because Science and Reading were weaker pts for me when i took the ACTs so it would make a big difference if the composite score was based off Math and English instead of all the sections of the test.

You have to have a minimum 21 on the English section, 24 on the math and 23 composite and that composite is the composite you get on the test as a result of averaging all four sections; in other words it is the “composite” score that ACT provides to you.

Also be aware those minimums only mean you can apply for admission and get considered. You usually need higher than that to get accepted; the academy’s middle 50% range is usually 25-30 composite ACT.

The composite is the arithmetical average of the four tests: M, R, E, & Sc, rounded to the nearest whole number; thus, a 22.5 average will round to a 23, but a 22.25 rounds to 22.

To earn the minimum composite of 23, you need 92 points over four tests. Thus, if the minimums are 21 & 24 for E & M (45 total), , that means that you must earn at least 47 points on the other two tests, i.e, 24 & 23, or any combination of 47. However, unhooked candidates will likely need much higher than the minimums to be successful in admissions.
