I already registered and paid for the Dec. ACT but something important has come up and I won't be able to attend. Is there any way to get my money back?

Please help, it is pretty urgent.

You can only get a refund of the $14 writing portion of the test (see last part below, if you registered & paid for that portion), but you can switch the date or site for $15 change fee to take the test on another date or at another site. I'm sure the ACT folks can provide more info.
Good luck!
If You Miss the Test Date
Because of processing costs, the basic fee for the ACT is not refundable, even if you do not test. If you miss the test for any reason, you may do one of the following:

Request a Test Date Change. To test on a later national test date, follow the Test Date Change instructions on the back of your admission ticket. (Because prior arrangements are necessary, students applying for extended time may not make a test date change on the day of the test.)
If you call 319/337-1851 (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.5 p.m. central time), inform the service representative you want to make a Test Date Change and test with extended time. (All fees for services by phone must be paid by MasterCard or VISA.)
If you write, include a note indicating you want to test with extended time.
If the Test Date Change is made on or before the regular deadline for the new test date, the fee is $18.00.
If the Test Date Change is made after the regular but by the late deadline for the new test date, the fee is $36.00 ($18.00 Test Date Change plus $18.00 Late Fee).

Request a Refund of the Writing Test Fee. If you registered for the ACT Plus Writing but did not test, you may request a refund of $14.00. Follow the instructions on the back of your admission ticket.

Thank you SOOOOOOOOO much!
