ACT Required Writing

Okay, here's the deal.
My top school of choice is USC.
USC requires the writing section for the ACT.
I already took the ACT and got a 33 composite with a 10 essay.
However, I want to take it again (the deadline for registration is tonight) and raise my score a bit, because I know I can do better.
The problem in a nutshell is that I don't know if I have to take the essay portion again, if I already got a 10 score, which I am content with. I don't know USC's policies, or any other schools that require it for that matter...
So can someone help?

Yep, you’ll need to take the ACT with writing if you want them to consider your new score. However, the writing doesn’t matter too much. The main thing is the composite, good luck.

Alright, thanks Alok. I registered with the writing, although I would have rather just taken the test.
