I took the act back in December for the first time and got a 27. Then in April I took it again with my school. Before I was able to get my scores back, the deadline to register for the June act came, so I decided to register because I didn’t want to have to wait until September and I didn’t know what my score would be. When I got my score back, I got a 33. I am more than happy with this score and I don’t really want to take it again. I have had people tell me that I should not take it again because then it would look bad if I get a lower score. Any thoughts?
It won’t matter if you get a lower score, since you can choose which ACT scores to send. If you do poorly, you don’t have to send it. You might as well take it since you already paid for it.
It also depends where you want to go. A 33 is a great score, but if you want to go to a top 20 or Ivy, you should have around a 34/35. If you want to go to schools like NYU, BC, and BU, a 33 will be fine. I know you don’t want to go through the hassle, but getting a better score can only help you.
If I were you, and if I have the time on Saturday, I will retake it…for ACT , you can delete the score.
