I am trying to see how many of you have retaken the ACT?

Please answer in a yes/no format

Thanks for your time

Also, I signed up for the December ACT before I received my October ACT
I got a 35 comp and a 34 in english/writing
Should I retake the ACT and try to get a 36 or is it unnecessary?

Yes, I retook it twice and went 33->32->34.

If you can get a 36, it does look better, but that last point is obviously the hardest of all to get, and it’s really not a huge difference. Only retake it if you feel you didn’t do your best. Don’t waste the money and time if you’re most likely just gonna get a 35 again (or worse, go down).

You don’t need to retake the ACT. A 35 is the top 99%tile. In general, once you break 33 it is not necessary to retake it. Most people do in terms of a pride thing. However, if you score lower than a 35 the second time you take it it may look very bad.

And I can now kinda see why ppl would want to retake after getting such a good score. I think we’re just all too ambitious. In the past, I would’ve envied anyone who had my present score. But now that I’ve achieved that score, I feel i could’ve still done better and should retake. Haha, nonetheless though, I still have some self control.

Why WOULDN’T you retake it?
If you’ve signed up for December, you can’t get your money back. All you have to lose is like four hours. In my opinion, it’s a waste of money not to.
If you score lower, no one ever has to know. Just don’t choose to report it to any colleges ahead of time.
