ACT Retake?

So i'm planning to apply to the university of pennsylvania school of arts andd sciences ED next year. i have good extras and GPA, def good enough for penn. my bro and sis go there too so im thinking that would help. anyway to get back to what i wanted to talk about, i took the sat in january and got a 2320 (1520 reading/math). so my scores are pretty solid i believe. i decided to take the act also because i don't want to have to take the math 2 sat II at the end of this year. I'm taking bio and US satII's, but i want to take the ACT to make up for the other math sat II that they like to see. math is NOT my strong suit. so i got a 33 flat composite on my ACT , and clearly this does not match up with my 2320. would it hurt to send? shoudl i retake? i really dont' want to but if it would help then i would. its the science that f***** me over. thanks for your input!

I think that your are fine as is. If you are not applying to any schools that that require SAT II, I would not bother with them. I would definitely send both ACT and SAT scores as both are exceptional and it shows that you have what it takes in either test.

I was accepted with a 33 and did not take SAT nor SAT II. You having taken the SAT with such a strong score would theoritically be ahead of me. In fact, I got accepted to every school I applied (two ivys including Penn) and other top schools with my lone 33 ACT.

My suggestion would be to work on the rest of the “package!”

I agree with victor. I have no proof to back up this claim but it seems to me that anything above a 33 is pretty much all the same. With the differences between kids who studied and kids who didn’t, how you felt that day and just plain luck it seems that anybody with about a 32/33 or above can just be thrown in the “smart” basket and be done with that.
