ACT Retake

I recently took the ACT in Feb and was hoping for a 32 but unfortunately got the following:

C: 30
E: 24
M: 34
R: 30
S: 31
W: 8 (23)

Obviously I'm going to retake. However, all the schools I'm applying to require the ACT with writing and my school provides/requires me to take an ACT without writing. I was hoping not to take the ACT again after this since it would be my 4th time then.

Sooo..

Should I retake the ACT with writing after taking the one required for the school without writing?

Did you use a prep book to get that high score

Check if your schools require all scores. If they don’t, then I’d retake one more time if you’re not already above the 75th percentile for your schools. If they do, talk to your guidance counselor.

i think your writing score is fine. any score of 8+ is good enough

Yes most* of the schools I’m thinking of applying to do require to send all my scores. I’m not within my 75th percentile of schools I’m looking at so that’s why I’m retaking, but my question I guess is more if I improve to my needed score on my ACT without writing for my school, can I count it and be done with the ACT or would I have to repeat that score on an ACT with writing?
