Act ?'s: Please Answer for a curious, soon to be junior!

SO when i take the Act in April, does the ACT automatically get put on my school transcript so the college I decide to send the transcipt to can see it, or do i have to liek tel the ACT to send the score to certain schools? One more ?, what if idk what college i want to send the scores too?

Thank you.

You can decide which scores you send to which schools.
You don't need to immediately send your scores to any colleges.

School transcript - Depends on your school. Anyway I think some schools ask you to send it straight from the testing agency, even if it's on your high school transcript.

If you don't know just don't give one.

you don't have to put in the schools where the scores should be sent when you take the ACT. You can have the scores sent later to the colleges you pick. But you save some money if you list down some schools initially. I don't remember how many schools (4???) you can list down, but the scores will be sent there without you having to pay (other than the ACT fee you already paid).

If you don't want to take the chance that your ACT will be on your transcript, then do not put a high school down on the registration form. You can always send your score to your high school once you are happy with it.

Many high schools put your test score on your high school transcript (check to see if your school does). However, with some exceptions, colleges generally require an official score report from the testing agency regardless of whether test score appears on transcript and your application will not be considered absent such offical score report. You can send official scores to colleges by either putting them on the designated box in the application you fill out to take the test (and they then get sent without additional cost after scores come out) or ordering them sent by the testing agency after taking the test (for which there is a charge per send)

If your HS does put your score on your transcript, you can request that they remove it particularly if its low and you don't believe it represents your best efforts. Just mention FERPA, the federal privacy act.
