We're from the midwest and all our HS knows about is the ACT. What are the differences between the SAT and the ACT?

[SAT and ACT Test](SAT and ACT Test)

I know the feeling. I’m from the Midwest, and when I got my PSAT scores back, I had no idea what they meant. But the SAT is more of a reasoning test while the ACT tests learned knowledge more heavily. Almost all colleges accept both tests, though some people feel colleges from certain geographic regions may favor one test (SAT on the coasts).

*The SAT actually has a max score of 2400 if you include the relatively new writing section.

In addition, the ACT is shorter.
