I just looked at the ACT for the first time and I Like It. no guessing penalty, 4 choice answers, extra science sec to boost my composite, no fill in the blank because I suck at vocabulary... Other than those long reading passages, I think the ACT would be easier.

But I heard from everyone that the ACT score tends to turnout just the same as the SAT because it's short and more frantic. Human error tends to equate the resulting score down an equivalent SAT score.

What do you think?

Also, would looking at SAT books be just as good as ACT books if I study for the ACT? I bought some SAT books and practice tests and I hate to waste money.

that is a terrible test, IR09. no one would say "yeah, i'm not really into logic."
i would suggest the ACT. more straightforward. in my opinion it is less frantic, because you do not skip from math to reading to math to writing to reading to math to reading... it goes english, math, reading, science, writing, done.

But don't you guys think that the ACT includes more questions but less time? I always run out of time on reading sections because I'm not a good reader whatsoever.

Yes. It would def favor you. I consider myself a very fast reader and I finished the reading section on the ACT with 3 min, yet I finished all CR sections with about 8 min left abouts.

Not dealing with vocabulary is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO nice.

The science section is really killer for me, largely due to time issues, but overall I like the ACT far better. I like dealing with one subject at a time instead of alternating over three hours.

Personally, I think the reading sections are alright once you create a sort of "rhythm" with them, I usually finish with 5 minutes or so remaining.
