I got a 33 on the ACT and a 2210 on the SAT. I'm applying to many colleges, one of which is Columbia University. Columbia, for example, accepts both the ACT and the SAT. Which one would be best to send, given my scores? And what would happen if I sent both, as in, which one would they take into account?

Also: what if I sent the same ACT score twice to the same college on accident?

Columbia requires either SAT & 2 subject tests OR the ACT. Save the money and send only the ACT – you did great on both.

Sending the same score twice means automatic rejection. You didn’t know that?

Of course I’m kidding. Admissions offices aren’t populated by Dickensian cruel taskmasters, you know.

For a second I went into cardiac arrest. Thanks for the answer.

Columbia requires the ACT with Writing. If you took it without the writing portion, you will be automatically rejected - just kidding, again.

I would also suggest that you if your ACT and SAT scores are roughly equivalent, I would send the one that has all scores in the closest range. A 730/730/750 (=2210) is far better than a 36/36/36/22 (=33).
