ACT/SAT Optional Colleges?

I am applying to two ACT/SAT optional schools and was wondering if I should send my test score or not. I am applying to Smith and Bowdoin. I got a 25 on my ACT which is a little above average.

I have a great gpa and ec's. However my ACT is whats hurting me. Would you recommend I send my ACT score to these colleges or keep it to myself. If I sent in my score do you think it would hurt my chances?

Also, what other colleges do you know are ACT/SAT optional? I am open to any information about this because I am not very familiar with this method. Thanks

You can read about my stats here if you want- <a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/822854-what-colleges-do-you-think-will-look-past-my-test-scores.html#post1063642572%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/822854-what-colleges-do-you-think-will-look-past-my-test-scores.html#post1063642572</a></p>

The CB shows the 25:75 range for B as 29:33 and S as 25:31. Based on those, I definitely would recommend NOT sending your ACT to B, and though less emphatic, would likely not send it to S either.

Here is information on test optional schools:

[Optional List | FairTest](ACT/SAT Optional List for Fall 2025 - Fairtest)

Send it to neither. Definitely.

And Wake Forest University is the only SAT/ACT optional in the top 30 universities according to US NEWS TOP UNIVERSITIES.

Thanks for the advice- i wont send my ACT- Should I send in my SAT Literature Subject Test? I got a 650,

there are a bunch of good liberal arts schools that are optional

Muhlenberg, Franklin and Marshall, Ursinus, Union (Schenectady), Dickinson to name a few

Possibly the highest ranked college that requires no test scores is Wake Forest.
