ACT, SAT, or both

heys, im applying to college this year and I got a question.

I have an SAt score of 1980- math 690, reading 650, and writing 640. but my ACt score is 32 composite, 31 reading, 35 math, 32 writing(29 composite writing), and 29 science.

I was looking at the colleges I am applying to and they say on thier stats that my ACT scores are in the uper 70%- to 90% percentile, whereas my SAT scores are 25% to 60% percentile.

So i guess my question is, should I report both my scores, or just the ACT since they are technically better? The colleges I am applying to require one or the other but none say you have to have both.

oh and do I need to send my scores to them, or will the scores listed on my transcript suffice(did I use that word right? lol)

thanks for the help!

I like those ACT scores better. You don't have to report all of your scores. Send the ones that are the best.

Most colleges prefer scores sent directly from the College Board or ACT.

thanks, so you think I should just send ACT, because I was planning on doing that, only I dunno whether colleges would think you challenge yourself more or something if you took both and showed how you did in both.

any other opinions, and man it cost like 15 bucks and I am applying to like 4 schools so its like $60 bucks for nothing lol.

oh yea I am applying to some pretty(i mean very) selective schools, so is it better to just show your best or show your good and ok too?

what cost $15 each? Are you rushing scores?

Most colleges want to see one or the other, whatever is stronger. If you had strong scores in both types of tests I would send both. Not sending one doesn't show anything bad about you, just your performance in one test was good.

If you have time, take another one. Everyone seems to improve a second time. I usually recommend taking a second ACT or second SAT, based on the performance of the first test administration.

thanks, and yea they cost 15 bucks.

and I took SAT's 3 times already and I don't think I will take ACT again cause I am sure I won't do better, lol, no but I have doubt that I can take it after such a long summer of doing nothing. But i might take SAT's again, you think I should? cause I got a 1380 and thats about average for UVA(where I wanna go) but 32 is like above the 75th percentile for ACT and I sent both scores to them already,

thanks alot, I think I will end up asking guidance counselor or someone about this.

you would be better off retaking the ACT if you were to retake any test. If you are comfortable with your scores, go just with the high ones!
