ACT/SAT score submission

I cannot figure out if my daughter is required to send in every SAT AND ACT score she has ever received or rather all scores from EITHER SAT OR ACT. The wording on the GU website is slightly ambiguous and other sources are confusing. Anyone?

I believe if you have taken both, you need to send in all scores, but I’ll defer to the knowledge of more recent parents’ experiences.

I believe the “or” in the wording is if you’ve only taken one or the other.

You can also have your D email admissions to clarify.

Georgetown wants a complete testing record. This seems pretty clear:

Score Choice

Georgetown does not participate in Score Choice and requires submission of each applicant’s complete testing record, including all SAT, ACT, and/or SAT Subject test scores. We remain firmly committed to a comprehensive and holistic review of all applications, and test scores are considered in their appropriate context.

Not at all ambiguous

"Georgetown does not participate in Score Choice and requires submission of each applicant’s complete testing record, including all SAT, ACT, and/or SAT Subject test scores. "

Always, always, always default to the university’s instructions. Other sites may be out-of-date or simply wrong

Thanks all - seems pretty clear. She’s worried b/c she got a 1460 and then a 1590 on the SAT, after much prep between the two, but was advised to “just try the ACT” in the first round to see if she “liked the format” better. She got a 33 with no prep, which is good, but she worries it dilutes the impact of the 1590, and therefore, was hoping she could ignore it, rather than prepping and doing a second round of ACT. Alas, no such luck.

That 33 is still 98th percentile. I wouldn’t give that score a second thought, and not re-test.

She’s done with testing. She should not retake the ACT. I certainly hope you did not pay for a person to advise trying the ACT after a 1590.

While Georgetown requires all scores, it’s the best one that counts. After a 1590, it’s time to move on.
