Because many schools don't consider the writing section that important, your ACT might be a little higher than the SAT, but they're pretty much the same. GOOD JOB!

anyone else? i really need to know. thanks jsmall

Your SAT is better than your ACT; but your V+M is not better than your ACT composite. I would have to say ACT is slightly better since writing is shafted at many places.

SAT is better as a 1360/1600 equals a 30/31 ACT. Either way, you're intelligent.

so what would happen if i sent both my sat and act to a school? would there be any disadvantages??

Send both; they are practically equal; let the school decide.

I agree with noobcake. The schools use their own conversion chart and will use whichever is higher, so it can't hurt to send both.

I'm in the same dilemma:

ACT = 30
M: 31
E: 24 ( 9 - Essay)
R: 28
S: 36

SAT = 1310/1960
M: 750
W: 650 (11 - Essay)
CR: 560

I think I'm going to send both.

lol me too

ACT
E-31
M-33
R-27
S-27
Composite-30

SAT
CR-620
M-710
W-560

1330/1890

I agree on the opinion that students should send both ACT & SAT scores to colleges. It won't really hurt, unless you really bombed one of them.

I did well on the ACT but great on the SAT, and since I'm applying to very competitive schools (Williams, Swarthmore, Middlebury, Harvard, etc.), I'm slightly worried (perhaps paranoid) that my ACT score will somehow detract from my SATs. Should I submit both and trust admissions officers to look at my strengths, or just submit the SAT? Does anyone have an opinion on this? Thanks.

ACT = 31
E: 34
R: 30
M: 30
S: 29
Essay: 8

SAT = 1600/2260
M: 800
CR: 800
W: 660 (8 on the essay, bleh)

I would definately send the SAT 'cause colleges mostly look at cr+math and you got perfects....your act doesn't look as good compared to....

This seems to be a common situation:

ACT
31 comp
36 eng (10 essay, comb 34)
32 math
31 read
25 sci (darn those graphs!!!!)

SAT
1400/2120
720 M
680 CR
720 W (10 essay)
