What is the usual science curve?
Is it...
0 = 36
-1 = 35
-2 = 34
etc.

or harsher...
0 = 36
-1 = 34
-2 = 32

Im not sure if im right but from different rubrics i saw, there was a difference in each one. I think that each time they find the average and curve the whole test untill the average is at 20/21 mark.

Someone prove me WRONG if im am incorrect

bump! anyone have info on past science curves?

The Sci curve in this year's Preparing for ACT book was

0 = 36
-1 = 34
-2 = 32
-3 = 30
-4 = 29
-5 = 28

Death to the Science section!!!

That is cruel.

so you can't get a 35 on the science? -.-

in my real act book

Test 1:
-1 = 35
-2 = 33
-3 = 31

Test 2:
-1 = 35
-2 = 34
-3 = 33
-4 = 32

Test 3:
-1 = 36
-2 = 35
-3 = 34
-4 = 33

So it varies a lot

Generally 1 wrong on science gets you a 34.

I've never seen a curve where you can still get one wrong and get a 36.

I just checked in my real act book as well. shanekennedy is correct about the -1 being a 36.

Well, many have said that the real act prep book isnt exactly the model for all administered act tests, so I'm more interested in what the science curve ends up being on the real tests (like CB can be quite generous in terms of their curves when compared to the BB)

Hopefully the curve does end up being that way though!

any tips on timing for the science? can do the problems but timing is horrible

Didnotfaillife- what I meant was that I've never heard of an actual ACT having that generous of a curve. With these kind of tests, they have to plan out the curve before the test is administered, otherwise it would take far longer than 2-3 weeks to get your multiple choice scores.

what was the curve on the science section for the october act? i got a 36 and was wondering if i got all of the questions right...

as far as tips are concerned, don't read the paragraphs unless you have to. just go right to the questions.

the curves for science vary a lot, i have about 6 tests from national test dates that i have borrowed from friends with older siblings and the range is pretty wide, i thought this last science wasn't nearly as hard as the october one though

ede - would you mind posting what curves past ACTs have had?
like how much a -1 would be.

yeah october was RIDICULOUS.

Echelon from test rubrics i see usually it is -2 for each question wrong, time to time there is -1 for each question wrong at FIrst then goes back to -2 until it goes to 32
