I've taken two practice tests out of the Official ACT Prep Book and have received pretty good scores on the English, Math, and Reading sections (34, 33, and 35, respectively), but I am getting a poor score on the Science Section (last time 27).

Does anyone have any tips to succeed in the Science Section or any methods that they use to attack the science section. I quickly read the passages and go on to the questions, but have to refer back to the passages constantly. For some reason this is the only section that I have time issues on.

I usually take a quick glance at the graphs, then go straight to the questions.
But I actually read the passages with the conflicting viewpoints.

hmm that sounds like a good strategy. im going to try that out right now!

just practice a lot and find your own strategy. im in that process right now.

ahh not cool. so i just did a practice and according to the scale i got a 26!?!!. thats scary...guess i better bank on the other sections for a good score :/

Science section isn't suppose to be the hardest section of the test... You just have to takea lot of practice tests to get the hang of it... So just get your testbooks out and get cracking.

I did well on the science portion,35. I think the biggest problem people have with science is that they overthink it. All the information is presented to you directly in a graph or is logical base on the graph or article or whatever. Just keep practicing for your time issues

Practice reading the graphs and make sure you understand the given background information. Also, the ACT just repeats the same types of questions over and over again, so if you practice you'll be able to easily predict the answer with little to no thought.
